I have a relationship problem. I'm not sure at this point if any advice can salvage my relationship with my girlfriend. She is quite upset that i want to maintain somewhat of a relationship with my ex-girlfriends daughter, who recently got pregnant. I dated this ex years ago and we've maintained an acqaintance relationship on Facebook. I love my current girlfriend very much and we have a lot in common. But it seems we differ on the role our ex's should play in our lives. She's a single mother and we've been in a long distance relationship for about two months. I'm planning on moving near her real soon. Here's the problem... she's been using her ex-boyfriend as an emergency support system. She still attends the gym where he works and he still sends her messages about how much he misses her and regrets cheating on her. She tells me the only solution to her removing him as an emergency contact person is to hurry up and move down near her. But in the meantime, I need to cut all communication with my ex-girlfriend's daughter. She says, it's a double-standard for me to expect her to cut him off and me not do the same with my ex's daughter.
